HW: Write a (one-page minimum) historically accurate letter as a farmer, miner, or herder (or the wife/child of one of the three) to a family member back East.  You letter should contain factual information and reflect what life was like in the American West and what it was like to perform the job of the person you chose.  You may include:  any hardships you faced (a death, droughts, stampedes, loneliness, etc.) or births and marriages.
